Are you ready to hire a Interior Designer?

So, you are thinking of hiring an interior designer.  You have finally found the house that you want to make your home and you are considering using an interior designer. To some people the thought of hiring a designer can be daunting.  Maybe you think hiring a designer you may need to have a large budget or perhaps the person you work with will not understand your design style.

Working With A Designer When Moving Into A New Home

Congratulations! Now what, moving into a new home can be overwhelming. A designer can assist you make your new home feel welcoming when you combine a good colour palette, lighting, window treatments, space planning and soft furnishing. Hiring an interior designer can help take your design inspiration  from decor to furnishings  and provide a elegant setting for your new home.

Working with A Designer If You Have A Reasonable Budget

A good designer helps you keep you on budget. You don’t not need to have a large budget to work with an interior designer.   A designer has a portfolio of secrets, these secrets that will save you time and money; everything from discounts to hidden gems, to understanding what pieces are worth the investment; the wealth of knowledge is invaluable.

Working With A Designer For Major Renovation Projects

It is agreed, a contractor can help you plan for tearing things down and moving walls, but there are so many details to consider when undergoing a major renovation.  They will help you formulate a plan to make sure all choices, both large and small, go together for a final look that not only reflects the style you like but makes functional sense as well.

Designers can help you figure out the more functional aspects of a large scope project. Even the seemingly unglamorous decisions like where to place your kitchen outlets can make a big impact in the final outcome of the project. For example, if you want one solid piece of marble backsplash in your kitchen versus a tile backsplash, it’s best to conceal the kitchen outlets underneath the upper cabinets to avoid breaking up the backsplash with outlet cuts.

You Shouldn't Work With A Designer If You Want Everything Done In One Day

Do you have a goal to move into a perfectly finished home?  Good design takes time, you will have to  either  delay your move-in date or re-evaluate your plans. With the current climate, choosing items and having the items shipped and customised can take a few weeks or even months. Issues can arise that are out of the designer’s control such as items being destroyed in the shipping process  and delays from foreign suppliers, etc.

If you want to move into a new place with a small time frame and everything perfectly set up and finished, that just won’t happen when you use an interior designer. You’re probably better going to  a store  or shop at an online home decor store that sells packages of rooms and throws in free lamps and a side table. Of course, it won’t look as nice or have a designer touch, but you’ll have a comfortable place to sit. Alternatively, you can rent furniture and take your time deciding what you really want.
